The tall man told me that there was a San painting of a VOC ship in a cave on this farm. I’ll have to go back to search for it. We found this little horse, the pigments* still so saturated and beautiful. And so Bronze was born…
*San pigments were made from ground red rocks and animal fat.
Where has this yarn been my whole life? I had to cast on something new immediately once it had dried… I love this base so much – it’s a slinky blend of Merino Wool, Kid Mohair and Mulberry Silk.
I think I might need a cabled jacket in this…
While packing my bags to go away tomorrow, I was also finishing off some things in my to-do pile – one of them was to add more tassels to my shawl. I posted a quick pic on instagram and for a second it flashed beneath a photograph by my dear friend Gaby.
